Explosiones en el cielo

Explosions in the Sky, All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone

All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone”?

Pensamiento

Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros – Redemption Song

Motivo

Pearl Jam – Nothing Man

Well we were born within an hour of each other
Our mothers said we could be sister and brother
Your name is Deborah, Deborah
It never suited you
And they said that when we grew up
we'd get married and never split up
Oh we never did it
Although I often thought of it

Oh Deborah, do you recall?
Your house was very small, with woodchip on the wall
When I came round to call, you didn't notice me at all
And I said: "Let's all meet up in the year 2000,
Won't it be strange when we're all fully grown?
Be there, two o'clock by the fountain down the road."
I never knew that you'd get married
I would be living down here on my own
On that damp and lonely
Thursday years ago

You were the first girl at school to get breasts
And Martyn said that you were the best
Oh, the boys all loved you but I was a mess
I had to watch them try and get you undressed
We were friends and that's as far as it went
I used to walk you home sometimes but it meant
Oh, it meant nothing to you, cause you were so, popular

Deborah, do you recall?
Your house was very small, with woodchip on the wall
When I came round to call, you didn't notice me at all
And I said: "Let's all meet up in the year 2000,
Won't it be strange when we're all fully grown?
Be there, two o'clock by the fountain down the road."
I never knew that you'd get married
I would be living down here on my own
On that damp and lonely
Thursday years ago

Do it, Oh yeah, Oh yeah
And now it's all over
You've paid your money and you've taken your choice
And I know we'll never meet again
But Deborah, I just wanted you to know
I remember every single thing

Oh Deborah, do you recall?
Your house was very small with woodchip on the wall
When I came round to call, you didn't notice me at all
And I said: "Let's all meet up in the year 2000
Won't it be strange when we're all fully grown?
Be there, two o'clock by the fountain down the road."
I never knew that you'd get married
I would be living down here on my own
On that damp and lonely
Thursday years ago

Oh, what are you doing Sunday baby?
Would you like to come and meet me maybe?
You can even bring your baby, Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
What are you doing Sunday baby?
Would you like to come and meet me maybe?
You can even bring your baby, Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh.

The Weakerthans - Left & Leaving, del disco Left & Leaving

My city's still breathing (but barely it's true) through buildings gone missing like teeth. The sidewalks are watching me think about you, all sparkled with broken glass. I'm back with scars to show. Back with the streets I know. They never take me anywhere but here. Those stains in the carpet, this drink in my hand, these strangers whose faces I know. We meet here for our dress-rehearsal to say " I wanted it this way" and wait for the year to drown. Spring forward, fall back down. I'm trying not to wonder where you are. All this time lingers, undefined. Someone choose who's left and who's leaving. Memory will rust and erode into lists of all that you gave me: some matches, a blanket, this pain in my chest, the best parts of Lonely, duct-tape and soldered wires, new words for old desires, and every birthday card I threw away. I wait in 4/4 time. Count yellow highway lines that you're relying on to lead you home

Pearl Jam - Better Man, del disco Vitalogy

Waitin', watchin' the clock, it's four o'clock, it's got to stop
Tell him, take no more, she practices her speech
As he opens the door, she rolls over...
Pretends to sleep, as he looks her over
She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man

Ohh...

Talkin' to herself, there's no one else who needs to know...
She tells herself, oh...

Memories back when she was bold and strong
And waiting for the world to come along...
Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone
She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...
She lies and says she still loves him, can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man

She loved him, yeah...she don't want to leave this way
She needs him, yeah...that's why she'll be back again
Can't find a better man (can't find a better man)
Can't find a better man (can't find a better man)
Can't find a better man (can't find a better man)
Can't find a better...man...

Against Me! - We Laugh At Danger (And Break All The Rules), del disco Reinventing Axl Rose

It was a birthday gift
of a Mexican Telecaster
And from this day on I will play along
to all my young pioneers records
And there will be a poetry spoken silently between me and the stereo
I'll work mornings
and you can work through the night
Mary, there is no hope for us
If this GM van don't make it
across the state line
we might as well lay down and die
Because if Florida takes us
we're taking everyone down with us
Where we're coming from (yeah)
will be the death us
And I cannot help but hold on
to a handful of times
when what was spoken
was a revolution in itself,
and what we were doing
was the only thing that mattered
And how good it felt
to kill the memory of nights spent
holding your shirt for the smell
I heard you used to cry
when you made love to him
but this band will play on
Because all we can do is what we've always done. And on and on and on...

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here, del disco Wish You Were Here

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skiess from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war,
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

The Undertones - Teenage Kicks, del disco The Undertones

Are teenage dreams so hard to beat
Everytime she walks down the street
Another girl in the neighbourhood
Wish she was mine, she looks so good

I wanna hold her wanna hold her tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night

I'm gonna call her on the telephone
Have her over cos i'm all alone
I need exitement oh i need it bad
And its the best, i've ever had

I wanna hold her wanna hold her tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night

I wanna hold her wanna hold her tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night

Roger Waters - Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking, del disco In The Flesh

Hello...you wanna cup of coffee?
I'm sorry, would you like a cup of coffee?
Ok you take cream and sugar?
In truck stops and hamburger joints
In Cadillac limousines
In the company of has-beens
And bent-backs and sleeping forms
On pavement steps
In libraries and railway stations
In books and banks
In the pages of history
In suicidal cavalry attacks
I recognise...
Myself in every stranger's eyes

And in wheelchairs by monuments
Under tube trains and commuter accidents
In council care and county courts
At Easter fairs and sea-side resorts
In drawing rooms and city morgues
In award winning photographs
Of life rafts in the China seas
In transit camps, under arc lamps
On unloading ramps
In faces blurred by rubber stamps
I recognise...
Myself in every stranger's eyes

And now from where I stand
Upon this hill I plundered from the pool
I look around, I search the skies
I shade my eyes, so nearly blind
And I see signs of half remembered days
I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways
I recognise...
The hope you kindle in your eyes

It's oh so easy now
As we lie here in the dark
Nothing interferes it's obvious
How to beat the tears
That threaten to snuff out
The spark of our love
